The AHA BLS Instructor Essentials Course is designed for Individuals who work/and or has a background in the Clinical Setting and wish to instruct the AHA BLS CPR program. This registration is for The Online AHA BLS Instructor Essentials Course and Classroom Tuition. The AHA BLS Instructor Candidate Must Purchase their Instructor Materials ( Instructor Manual & Courses Video ).

In order to register for the AHA BLS Instructor Course, you must meet these COURSE Pre-requisites:

• Have a Current American Heart Association BLS Provider Certification.
  Be at least 18 years old.
  Experience working in the Healthcare Environment.
  Complete the Instructor Candidate Application and forward to the ERTSS office for review.
  Complete the Instructor Potential ( IP ) recommendation letter and forward to the ERTSS office for review.
  Be Accepted as an Instructor Candidate by the Training Center.Do Not Attempt To Register For This Course Until You Have Met All The Pre-Requisites!

  What’s Included:
  Classroom Seat & The Online BLS Instructor Essentials Course.
  The Online Instructor Essentials Course must be completed before the classroom portion begins.

  What Do I Bring with me to the course?
  1. Copy of you Current AHA BLS Provider card
  2. Completed Online Instructor Essentials Course certificate.
  2. BLS Instructor Manual

  What will we do during the course?
  1. The BLS Instructor candidates will take the BLS provider written exam.
  2. The Training Center Faculty (TCF) will follow the AHA BLS Instructor agenda to present the course information. The BLS Instructor Manual is a vital part of this information.
  3. The TCF will guide you through the process of teaching a BLS provider Course using the various agendas available.
  4. The TCF will guide you through the AHA Atlas platform and how to use it effectively.
  5. The TCF will guide you through the eCard distribution process and the available options.
  6. The TCF will review the Instructor monitoring process.
  7. The Instructor Candidates will take the BLS provider written exam at the beginning of the course and the BLS Instructor Exam at the end of the course.

  Where do I find the BLS Instructor materials?
  The BLS Instructor Materials include Instructor and Provider Manuals, Course Videos. These can be found at www.worldpoint.com or www.shopcpr.heart.org

  Do Not attempt to register for this Instructor Course until you have completed ALL the Course Pre-requisites!

If you meet the above qualifications and have been accepted as an Instructor Candidate, then Follow these steps:

1. Register and Pay for the AHA BLS Instructor Course. Your Online AHA BLS Instructor Essentials Course Access KeyCode will be emailed to you. Follow the included instructions to complete the Online Course. This must be completed prior to attending the Classroom portion. Bring certificate to class!
