AHA has more clearly defined the minimum requirements to qualify as a Training Site (TS). Ertss has also refined our approval process for groups / organizations that wish to be designated as a TS under ERTSS.
Below are the AHA Minimum Requirements to be considered a Training Site as outlined in the memo from the AHA to the AHA Training Network.
What is an AHA Training Site? The AHA originally created its Training Network structure to allow for Training Sites to offer you more options for offering AHA training in multiple locations. Please note the official definition of an AHA Training Site: An AHA Training Site operates with the authorization of an AHA Training Center and meets the following minimum requirements: 1. Has a business legal name with supporting legal documents. 2. Teaches AHA courses in accordance with the official AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. 3. Maintains at least five (5) AHA Instructors who train more than a combined 250 people each year for the Training Site. Each Instructor must maintain a minimum Instructor Quality Score of 85. Each Instructor must align with Training Site or ERTSS TC. 4. Owns and maintains all equipment needed for teaching AHA courses, including manikins that meet feedback device requirements (equipment may not be borrowed from the Training Center.) 5. Meets minimum technical requirements: Uses latest version of one of the top three or four Internet browsers by market share Maintains knowledge of and effectively uses AHA Training Network applications, such as the AHA Instructor Network, eCards, eLearning, eBooks, etc. Thank you for everything you do to contribute to the mission of saving lives Sincerely, AHA CPR & ECC |
ERTSS has also made changes to our TS designation process which includes all the above AHA requirements and:
Business Legal Name with supporting business documents, ie: Business License.
1. All TS eCards will be issued to the Training Site . The TS Coordinator / Administrator can then issue ecards to their Instructors, or directly to students that have successfully completed all course requirements.
2. The survey is part of the student process to claim their eCard. This information is calculated and averaged to provide a score. AHA’s benchmark and minimum quality score is 85. Training Sites must maintain at least a quality score of 85 for each AHA discipline they teach.
3. Once a Training Site has been approved, ERTSS will contact the TS Coordinator and provide them information regarding TS Level assignment and TS eCard order form information. TS’s must use the TS eCard order form.
4. Partial or Split TS affiliation is available, but the TS must meet the minimum number of students trained, 250, for the AHA disciplines affiliated with ERTSS. Partial or Split TS affiliations do not qualify for eCard discounts.
